[Recipe] Pumpkin Spice madness !

Jeder der schon einmal in Amerika war, kennt den dort bekannten sogenannten “Pumpkin Spice”, eine würzige Herbst-Mischung die in den kälteren Monaten gerne benutzt wird. Schonmal von Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte gehört? Obwohl dieser geschmacklich dem “Pumpkin Spice” sehr ähnelt, enthält das Getränk leider kein Stück Kürbis. Dafür aber jede Menge an Zucker. Und das finden wir eine Schande. Das Gewürz lässt sich schnell und einfach daheim nach kreieren, und wir ermutigen euch es einmal selber auszuprobieren. Wie man’s macht: Zutaten (für ca. 1 Tasse Pumpkin Spice) – 2 TL Zimt, ¼ TL gemahlene Muskatnüsse, ¼ TL gemahlener Ingwer, ¼ TL

 

Every one who has been to the United States knows Pumpkin Spice, this delicious and spicy mixture that people add to their everyday cooking when the fall comes. Starbucks actually invented Pumpkin Spice with their famous Pumpkin Spice Latte. Although mostly rich in sugar, this latte made everyone go mad ! Unfortunately, there was not one drop of pumpkin in the Pumpkin Spice Latte, nor is there any in Pumpkin Spice. But luckily for us, Pumpkin Spice is a very easy to make condiment that you can use in many recipes during this cold month of October.   How to make Pumpkin Spice Ingredients – makes 1 tbsp of Pumpkin Spice 2 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg 1/4 tsp ground ginger 1/4 tsp allspice 1/4 tsp ground clove   09-2014 PPS-3   Mix the spices together and sprinkle on these three recipes:   #1 Pumpkin Spice Baked Apples 1 serving Ingrédients 1 apple 1/2 tsp Pumpkin Spice Dried cranberries Walnuts 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup Preparation – Choose a nice, fresh, delicious apple. – Remove the core, and place apple in a baking dish. – Fill the core with fruit juice sweetened cranberries. – Pour honey down the center, over the cranberries. – Sprinkle 1/2 tsp. Pumpkin Spice over your apple. – Place your apple in the oven, and bake at 350 F. until you can easily puncture it with a knife. It should be quite soft. This will take about 20 minutes. Remove from oven, and allow to cool. – Cut open and top with a small handful of walnuts. baked-apples

#2 Raw Pumpkin Spice energy bars (makes 7 bars) 225g dates 30g nuts 30g peanuts 2 tbsp maple syrup 2 tbsp. pumpkin purée 1 big tbsp Pumpkin spice Preparation:

Place all ingredients in a food processor and pulse until the mixture is well combined, but there are still some chunks of nuts.  

In a parchment paper lined bread pan, spread the mixture and press it down firmly with a spatula.  Pull the whole mixture out of the pan and cut into bars or bites of your desired size.
