After reading this title you are probably thinking something along the lines of: “3 days without food? I could never do that, I’d be starving, for sure, no way I could never go without food for 3 whole days!” Well, to be honest, I was thinking the same. When the lovely Stefanie from Fit’n’Healthy approached me 2 weeks ago, I really had mixed feelings about a 3 day juice cleanse. On the one hand, I was excited about the opportunity to try juice fasting for three days guided through their professional program, on the other hand, I was nervous about the fact that I wouldn’t be eating for 3 days.

Today I had my first breakfast after 3 days of juicing on a beginner level, wich means I was allowed of a little meal for lunch, where I decided to eat only raw fruit and vegetables, usually a salad and a little bit of fruit. But let’s get to the real deal. How did I feel? Was I hungry all the time? Did I loose any weight? Did I have better vision, or more energy? Would I juice fast again?

First of all, yes, I would juice again. I never felt more pure and at peace with myself. Even though I did not experience any signs of better vision or any of that king, I felt light and clean. To my surprise, I didn’t feel hungry for the most of the time. Yes, I had my cravings, most of them on the first day. But the little salad and fruit at lunch really made me feel satisfied. As a person who’s used to fixed meal times as I am, I was very surprised of how satisfied I felt during my cleanse. Moreover, I really enjoyed not having to think about grocery shopping or preparing dinner, yet alone preparing the juices. All I had to do is take my juices with me, wherever I went, so I would be prepared.

Another thing I want to point out, however, is that I’m not sure if I would have managed to juice cleanse on my own. I do own a juicer and I already attempted cleansing for 2 or 3 days several times before, but preparing them myself just distracted me and I started to eat the veggies I actually intended to juice. The juices I drank during my fast was the First Date Juice package by Fit’n’Tasty, which you can have a look at here. They got delivered to me on time the morning I started my juice fast. As a total juice freak, I really enjoyed having all these yummy available in my fridge. Moreover, I really love how the juices by Fit’n’Tasty are produced here in Switzerland, that they’re made of local ingredients and that they’re cold-pressed, another sign indicating the premium quality of their products.

As a matter of fact, I did shed some weight, which I didn’t intend but expected to. Of course, a lot of the weight I lost will be pure water loss, and as I will eat normally again, I will gain the weight I lost back in no time. I generally don’t like the idea of losing weight through a juice cleanse anyhow. First of all, the weight loss is only temporary, secondly  shedding too much weight in a short period of time can be very unhealthy. If you’re naturally thin or maintaining a lower boundary weight, I would therefore definitely not recommend doing a juice fast for more than 3 days.

PS: Leave me comment if you have ever tried or intended to juice fast or have any more question regarding the topic. I’d love to answer your questions.

Much love, Leyla
